Millennial culture in a moving country

Data from Kathmandu-Nepal

Nepal is a small country between two giants: China and India. It is possible that this is why it seems a country unjustly forgotten. We say unfairly because it is a wonderful country but quite unknown. When not receiving so many tourists it conserves an authenticity and an essence difficult to find in other more exploited tourist countries. Kathmandu, is characterized by its busy urban life. A lot of traffic, smells and colors that intermingle in its dusty streets with centuries of history. Sitting in Durbar Square to watch life go by and observe the monks praying is a pleasure that in few places can be enjoyed. Spirituality is breathed everywhere.

Did you know…?

The Nepalese greeting "Namasté" means "I revere you, I bow before you," and it is the most dignified and respectful greeting from one human being to another. Buddha was born in Nepal, but the majority religion is Hinduism. 8 of the 14 highest mountains on the planet, including the highest in the world, Everest. Since 2008, Nepal is no longer a monarchy but a republic. It is the fifth least developed country in all of Asia according to human development reports the United Nations .

Cultural proposals for your free time in Nepal:

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Durbar Square in Kathmandu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the epicenter of the capital and a fascinating place full of life. You have to walk through its temples to appreciate its sculptures and monuments of the Newari culture.

Pokhara and ChitwanA about 5 hours from Kathmandu the charming village of Pokhara, with wonderful views of the snowy peaks of the Himalayas. Chitwan is a large national park where you can see elephants and rhinos.

Lout

Located in the Kathmandu Valley, Patán is a true jewel of Nepalese architecture with magnificent temples, sculptures and monuments.

Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur (World Heritage) is a city located 13 km from the capital, which welcomes visitors with an almost medieval atmosphere: women wash their clothes in public fountains, men wear their traditional dress, peasants are seen squatting next to the road selling vegetables, much of the city is pedestrian. You have to see it.

Pashupatinath

The most sacred Hindu pilgrimage site in Nepal is located just 4 km from Kathmandu and is an incredible enclave of temples, pilgrims and sadhus (holy men), with its main attraction Pashupati Mandir, a temple where worship Shiva.
